Ana Mama Ganuush, a trans Palestinian performance artist, filmmaker, activist, and organizer.

My work is an unflinching expression of Palestinian futurism, serving as a multidisciplinary challenge to colonialism. Through weaving together my African and Palestinian heritage through dance, film, and community action, creating a powerful synthesis of Palestinian folk art and music, the elegance of Egyptian golden-era dance, and the raw, spontaneous energy of clown and theater.

I use my platform to manifest a future where Palestine is free, presenting Palestinians not as subjects of tragedy but as architects of freedom.

Founding Projects & Community Work

I am the co-founder of several key initiatives that form the bedrock of their community work:

  • The HALA Collective: A radically queer collaboration of artists dedicated to the liberation of Palestine and all people fighting colonialism. Through productions like PinkWash, Cabaret Palestina, and Salon Hala, the collective curates spaces where art and community fortify one another.

  • JAHA Film Festival: A radical and joyful celebration of trans, intersex, and nonbinary (TIN) filmmakers from the Global South. The festival is a cinematic weapon of collective liberation, centering Palestinian voices to bring together liberation for all people. The festival's vision extends beyond the screen to the JAHA Gender and Trans School, which aims to provide free, democratized access to knowledge on trans identity, curated by scholars and activists.

  • AIPAC Zombies Podcast: Produced in partnership with Toshio Meronek, this podcast wields sharp political satire to critique power structures, focusing on what they describe as "people in American culture who have been possessed by the worst Zionist brainrot".

Butch on the street femme on the screen!

Beyond the stage, I organize in protests, hunger strikes, and host workshops that deconstruct colonial propaganda.
